He has collaborated with teams behind large-scale productions including The Wandering Earth II, helping translate complex ideas into human-centered narratives. As a writer-director, Yumeng uses cinema to explore the intimate, often unspoken dynamics between individuals in contemporary life. His short film Crossing River (2017) was selected for Pardi di Domani at the 70th Locarno Film Festival and the 54th San Francisco International Film Festival, and was later acquired by Kinoscope for distribution. Yumeng holds an MFA from the Graduate Film Program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
